We celebrated World Book Day in our school on Thursday, 3rd March. Many of the children dressed up as their favourite characters from a book. On Thursday morning we were greeted by Harry Potter, Bagheera from ‘The Jungle Book’, Rapunzel, Roderick from ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’, Judy Moody and lots of other wonderful characters. After the pupils modelled their costumes the whole school took part in a book-themed quiz. Congratulations to the winning team, Dylan, Kate (Rapunzel) and Ruth (Tinkerbell). They also designed bookmarks and completed word-searches and other activities based on the theme of books. Book tokens were distributed to each pupil after the activities. No homework was given to the pupils on the condition that they spend some time reading a book of choice at home!!!
