On Friday 15th April Drumraney N.S welcomed Mairead Mc Guinness MEP to Drumraney NS. The children presented a number of projects on the day to the many family and friends that gathered. Their first project was their Blue Star research on the United Kingdom and the European Union. The next project focused on World War I and the children’s research on many of the soldiers from Drumraney that fought in the war that were related to them. The next project presented was a general overview of the 1916 Rising. The final project presented was focused on Michael McCormack, a local Drumraney man’s involvement in the 1916 Rising. Mairead McGuinness spoke to the children about their projects and the importance of dialogue in resolving problems. The choir from Moate Secondary school performed a medley of songs and Drumraney N.S. school band played the anthem for the European Union “Ode to Joy”. Farmyard in the School Yard visited our school that day and we got to learn lots about all the animals. An ice cream van was also a great treat for big and small on the day. Have a look at our day in pictures!
