Aistear is well and truly underway in the Junior Room! Aistear is the early childhood curriculum framework for all children from birth to six years in Ireland. It emphasises the importance of play based methodologies in supporting children’s learning and development. Children have an opportunity to explore many subject areas under a common theme. Our theme for this month is ‘The Zoo’. Groups of children explore this topic at various play stations, such as construction, role-play, small world, creative, water/sand and puzzles.
